Zürcher Sing-Akademie on tour
with the Freiburger Barockorchester, Trevor Pinnock conductor
veryone knows him and (almost) everyone loves him: Handel's Messiah. The librettist of the oratorio, Charles Jennens, of all people, was not at all satisfied with the work and even accused the composer of laziness, stubbornness and lack of interest. Fortunately, these quarrels faded over the centuries and today Messiah is the oratorio par excellence.
For such a highlight in the history of music, the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra did not miss the opportunity to engage an English grand master of historically informed performance practice as conductor, Trevor Pinnock. Hardly any other musician knows Handel's work so precisely and in such detail and can fall back on an immeasurable wealth of experience in the Hallenser's music. So you can look forward not only to a wonderful work, but also to an excellent conductor and outstanding soloists.
