nne-Kristin Zschunke has been an active freelance mezzo concert soloist and ensemble singer for a number of years. She grew up in Berlin and started off as a physiotherapist. She then studied singing in Leipzig (Germany) and at the Royal Conservatory of Music in The Hague (Netherlands) as well as with Kerstin Wahlström-Olsson in Stockholm.


Anne-Kristin has a passion for ensemble singing. She regularly appears with Collegium Vocale Ghent, the Berlin Radio Choir, Vocalconsort Berlin, Cappella Amsterdam, the Swedish Radio Choir and the SWR-Ensemble Stuttgart. 


She performed as a soloist under such conductors as René Jacobs, Hermann Max, Jos van Veldhoven, Ottavio Dantone, Robert Hollingworth, Gary Cooper and Marcus Creed.


Anne-Kristin Zschunke has also been involved in various productions with Sasha Waltz, i.a. in the première performances of Pascal Dusapin’s „Medea“ under Marcus Creed at the Grande Théâtre de Luxembourg, the “Staatsoper Berlin” and Koninklijk Theater Carré in Amsterdam, and in "Passion" by Dusapin with Ensemble Modern and Frank Ollu at Théatre des Champs -Elysées, Paris, and at La Monnaie, Brussels. 


This regular collaboration with Sasha Waltz’s Dance Company has enabled her to combine her artistic work on stage with her expertise as a physiotherapist working with the dancers.
