riginating in Canton of Grisons, swiss mezzosoprano Ursina Patzen studied singing with Prof. Liliane Zürcher at the Hochschule Luzern and finished her Master’s degree in both pedagogy and performance with honours. Master classes with Margreet Honig, Turid Karlsen, Brigitte Geller, Malcolm Walker and Marieke Spaans complete her vocal education.


Already during her study she gained stage experience in different operatic projects under direction of Florian Pestell, Fernando Melo, Mathias Behrends, Christine Cyris and Regina Heer. In 2014 she made her debut as Amor in Monteverdis “L’incoronazione die Poppea” at Opern Studio Biel. In 2015 she performed in “Don Juan” (music by C. W. Gluck) at the Luzerner Theater and in 2016 she sang the role of Mutter in Humperdinck’s “Hänsel und Gretel” and performed in “Venus and Adonis” by J. Blow at the Luzerner Theater likewise.


Next to her operatic activities, Ursina Patzen performs regularly as a soloist in different settings. Her repertoire enfolds pieces from baroque to contemporary music.


Further she is a highly demanded ensemble singer and performes regularly with the professional ensembles Corund, Zürcher Sing-Akademie, and the Davos Festival Kammerchor. In the course of this she performed with conductors such as René Jacobs, Charles Dutoit, Lionel Bringuier, Peter Eötvös, Florian Helgath, Stephen Smith and Andreas Felber to name but a few.
