arah Widmer grew up in the region of Bern and studied singing in Lucerne (with Prof. Liliane Zürcher), Rostock, Germany (with Prof. Carola Höhn) and Zurich (with Werner Güra). She received her Master in Performance at the Zurich University of Fine Arts (ZHdK) with honours.

She regularly performs with many professional vocal ensembles all over Switzerland and abroad, including the Zürcher Sing-Akademie, larynx vocal ensemble, the DAVOS FESTIVAL Chamber Choir and the Ensemble Origen. She also performs as a soloist; one of her main points of focus is the Lied repertoire. Together with the pianist Edward Rushton and the singer-songwriter Christoph Trummer she has conceived and developed a music-theatre programme, “A Fond Heart”, which combines romantic Lieder, contemporary classical music and contemporary American folk songs. The trio performs throughout Switzerland.

Sarah loves to develop new ways of using her voice. She experiments with combining different styles and with new forms of performance in her own programmes. She is currently continuing her singing studies with Wessela Zlateva in Vienna.
